Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday that it is Iran's "duty" to exact revenge for the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, who was in Tehran for the inauguration of Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian.

Khamenei accused Israel of carrying out the strike that killed Haniyeh, warning that it will face a "harsh punishment." Israel has not yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
