Ukrainian Ambassador to the United Nations Sergiy Kyslytsya told a UN Security Council meeting that the International Atomic Energy Agency should deploy its experts at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in Ukraine until "the competent Ukrainian authorities regain control" over it.
In the same meeting, UN political affairs chief Rosemary DiCarlo called for an agreement that would ensure a ceasefire near the power station in order to avoid "catastrophic" consequences amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.
The meeting was requested by Moscow, whose forces have taken over the plant in March.
