Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, condemned Russia's "forced" inspection of the "civilian cargo ships" in the Black Sea which was heading to the Ukrainian port of Izmail on Sunday.
It "is a clear violation of international law of the sea, an act of piracy and a crime against civilian vessels of a third country in the waters of other states," Podolyak stated. "Ukraine will draw all the necessary conclusions and choose the best possible response," he added.
Earlier today, Navy's patrol ship Vasily Bykov opened "warning fire" to stop the Palau-flagged cargo vessel in the Black Sea.
