Ukrainian Defence Ministry declared on Tuesday that European Union countries aim to instruct 30,000 Kiev soldiers by the end of this year.
The task will be officially undertaken by the EU Military Assistance Mission and is expected to include "soldiers of the territorial defense forces."
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen disclosed this plan in March, while a separate operation to train Ukrainian pilots to fly American-made F-16 fighter jets is spearheaded by several Kiev allies.
