United States National Security Council (NSC) Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby underscored on Friday that the suspicion that certain staff members of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) participated in the October 7 should not "impugn the entire organization."
"They have helped save thousands of lives in Gaza, and they do important work," Kirby stressed, but added that if found guilty certain employees of the organization should be held accountable. However, until the investigation into these allegations is completed, Washington's funds to the organization will remain suspended, Kirby pointed out.
"We want this investigation to be complete and thorough and transparent," he added.
