Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida remarked on Friday that maintaining positive relations between his country and North Korea is "good" for the entire region.
Speaking to reporters, Kishida said he is not personally monitoring the activities of the team that is trying to arrange a summit with North Korea. Moreover, he stressed the importance of working with the United States and South Korea on dealing with Pyongyang, saying that joint actions, particularly in the military field, will lead to the latter's "deterrence."
Furthermore, Kishida promised the government will not shy away from taking action to prevent volatile moves in foreign exchange. He noted that such "disorderly" movements could affect Japan's economic and financial stability.
