Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov remarked on Thursday that Russia will continue to be in touch with United States President Donald Trump's administration.
Speaking at a press conference after a phone call between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, Peskov said that the focus at the moment is to organize their meeting. Commenting on a potential peace deal between Russia and Ukraine, the spokesperson noted that "there is a political will on both sides" to open a dialogue and start discussing a solution. He also commended the US's apparent willingness to end the conflict.
After talking with Putin, Trump discussed the ideas for a potential deal with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in a conversation the latter described as "meaningful." Previously, Zelensky insisted that Putin "is not preparing for peace."
