Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Monday that Denmark's authorities' decision to end the investigation into the Nord Stream explosions that occurred in September 2022 is "absurd."

"On the one hand, we are faced with a deliberate diversion, on the other hand, there is no further progress," Peskov stated during a press briefing. "The situation in this case is so obvious that one can only express absolute astonishment," he added.

Previously, the Danish police announced that it decided to stop further investigation into the incident. "The investigation has led the authorities to conclude that there was deliberate sabotage of the gas pipelines. However, the assessment is that there are not sufficient grounds to pursue a criminal case in Denmark," the police explained in a statement.
