North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un will visit Russia in the coming days at the invitation of President Vladimir Putin, the Kremlin confirmed in an official statement issued on Monday.
The Kremlin's press service made the announcement in a brief post on its official website without giving any additional details. Later on, Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said at a press conference that a meeting between Russia and North Korea's delegations is in plans. He also stressed that Putin and Kim will meet in person "if necessary."
Earlier in the day, it was reported that Putin and Kim could meet in Vladivostok during the Eastern Economic Forum on September 13.
