Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov commented on Tuesday that any ideas coming from third countries on the solution to the conflict in Ukraine are welcome but must take Russia's demands into account.
"Any ideas that take into account the interests of Russia, the concerns of Russia, of course, deserve attention and, of course, they should be listened to. And Russia is ready to do this. The main thing for us is to ensure our own interests," he told reporters at a press conference.
Peskov's comments came after Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva urged countries not directly involved in the conflict in Ukraine to broker peace. Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin invited Lula to attend the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) in June.
