Bank of Japan Governor Haruhiko Kuroda (pictured) stated on Thursday that the central bank intends to stick to its current easy monetary policy, expecting that the government's plan to subsidize household electricity rates will keep inflation down.
Speaking at a G20 event, Kuroda restated his estimate that the inflation to come below 2% for fiscal 2023, now predicting the same for fiscal 2024.
The governor noted that the country is not in a deflationary environment anymore following the fall of import prices last month.
