The leader of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Denis Pushilin (pictured) proposed on Monday to the leader of the Luhansk People's Republic (LPR), Leonid Pasechnik, that the two regions jointly prepare for the referendums they intend to hold so as to become a part of the Russian Federation.

Pushilin underlined the need to further synchronize their actions following recent statements coming from the LPR, DPR, and the Kherson region, according to which they would like to hold a referendum as soon as possible. The sides also underlined the importance of security guarantees they seek to acquire from Moscow that will make sure that these referendums are not the end point, but just a step towards officially joining Russia.
