US Secretary of State Marco Rubio emphasized Sunday that the United States will be ready to "reengage" in peace talks with Ukraine when the conditions are right. "We will be ready to reengage when they're ready to make peace."

Speaking on ABC, Rubio highlighted US President Donald Trump's central goal of ending the ongoing conflict, pointing out that Trump remains the only figure capable of negotiating with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

He stressed that while demands may be unreasonable, dialogue remains essential, and antagonistic rhetoric will not lead to peace. Rubio confirmed he had had any conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky after the heated meeting in Washington.
