Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov commented on Thursday on the Israeli military operations in the West Bank.

According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, Lavrov told RT that no formal hostilities were declared in that area. However, the Israeli military presence in the area hinders the peace process and ultimately does not help in the negotiations on the creation of a Palestinian state.

His comments follow the latest incident in the West Bank, in which three people were killed after reportedly opening fire on Israeli security forces. Based on police reports, eight other people were wounded.
