Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told TV BRICS in an interview that new members of the organization all have their own "well-deserved reputation" and are respected in the world.
"Egypt is the leader, the largest economy, and the most influential country in North Africa. Ethiopia is the headquarters of the African Union. Iran is a potentially economically strong state. The United Arab Emirates is one of the leading logistics, trade, and re-export centers of the modern world economy. Saudi Arabia is the leader of the Muslim world," Lavrov explained.
Each one of these countries "strengthens the credibility of BRICS itself," he noted.
