Lavrov: Russia-Iran ties moving forward

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Wednesday, during a meeting with his Iranian counterpart, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, that the relations between Moscow and Tehran are moving forward.

"In terms of joint economic cooperation, the interactions have experienced sustainable growth," Lavrov commented. Meanwhile, Amir-Abdollahian shared that the review of "the long-term Iran-Russia Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement has been finalized," adding that he hopes the legal edits will be done within a month after which the deal could be signed.

Touching upon the subject of military cooperation between the two countries and the United States worrying over the matter, the Iranian foreign minister earlier told reporters that this cooperation is not "directed against any third country."
