French Economy Minister Bruno Le Maire (pictured) praised on Friday the latest announcement made by Renault Group to invest €330 million in the Sandouville facility that will generate over 550 jobs in four years.

In a post in X, Le Maire highlighted that "reindustrialization is vital" for the country's economy. "The best example of this reindustrialization is the Renault factory in Sandouville. Why? Because we are going to produce new FlexEVan electric utility vehicles there, with 550 job creations at stake. They will be the most efficient and innovative electric utility vehicles in the world. They will carry high-performance Verkor batteries, produced nearby in Dunkirk," the minister added.

Earlier during the announcement, Renault CEO Luca de Meo noted that "e-commerce is exploding and it makes even more essential the need to reduce the environmental impact of these vehicles in the city."
