Lebanese President Michel Aoun (pictured center) announced on Thursday that the country has approved the United States-mediated maritime deal with Israel, adding that Beirut "did not give up a single kilometer," and has defended its rights to the Qana gas field.
The president revealed that the agreement will enable oil explorations, and new oil reservoirs allowing the country's economy to revive. He added that Beirut will also engage in dialogue with Syria over the disputed area through "brotherly discussions."
Previously, Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid underlined that the maritime border deal with Lebanon will help ensure stability on the northern border between the two countries, while also pouring billions into Israel's economy.
