China and the United States can hopefully move in the same direction, the former country's Premier Li Qiang told reporters on Tuesday.
Li's comments came after his meeting with US Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo. Raimondo, who is currently on a diplomatic visit to the Far Eastern country, said earlier that Washington "[w]hile we will never compromise in protecting our national security, I want to be clear that we will never seek to decouple or hold China's economy back."
Raimondo previously met with her Chinese counterpart Wang Wentao and agreed with him for their countries to launch a platform for export control information exchange.
