London Underground staff to initiate strike on Nov. 10

London Underground employees will go on strike on November 10 following a negotiations breakdown, the Secretary-General of the British National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers Mick Lynch confirmed on Tuesday.

The failed talks with local government body Transport for London (TfL) dealt with postponing planned job cuts and pension changes. "TfL have missed a golden opportunity to make progress in these negotiations and avoid strike action on Thursday," Lynch said.

According to the official TfL website, Londoners should expect limited or no tube lines running, while other services "will run, but may be extremely busy or subject to last-minute changes."
