Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said on Friday that the United States might try to pit Russia against China, according to BelTA.

"You see the change in the political situation that was a huge factor in the economic development due to US policy. But don't be deluded. We don't know what the US wants. I am saying this because I am well-informed about these issues. We don't know what they will demand from the Russians in exchange for ending the war and so on. It seems to me that they will try to pit the Russians against the Chinese. The Russians cannot allow this to happen," he remarked.

Recently, relations between Washington and Moscow have been thawing, with US President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin holding a phone conversation, and officials from both sides meeting in Saudi Arabia, to discuss various topics.
