Lukoil North America LLC Chairman Vadim Vorobyov on Friday expressed optimism about the decision by the Russian government to approve systematic measures aimed at stabilizing the domestic fuel market, which includes partially lifting restrictions on fuel exports from the country.
"The package is so comprehensive that it meets the interests of both consumers and producers," Vorobyov added.
Namely, Moscow removed ban on the seaborne diesel exports under the condition that the manufacturer supply at least half of the produced diesel fuel to the domestic market. In addition, in order to protect possible "gray exports" Russia imposed a windfall tax of 50,000 rubles per ton on sales of petroleum products for resale.
