United States Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick confirmed for CBS News on Sunday that President Donald Trump's reciprocal tariffs will be implemented on April 9.
"There is no postponing. They [the tariffs] are definitely going to stay in place for days and weeks. The president needs to reset global trade. Everybody has a trade surplus and we have a trade deficit. We are paying away our future," he remarked during the interview.
Earlier, US National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett revealed that over 50 countries contacted the White House to discuss tariffs.
