Macron says Trump cutting G7 visit short 'positive'

French President Emmanuel Macron said that United States President Donald Trump leaving the G7 summit early is "positive ... given the objective to get a ceasefire in the Middle East."

Macron said that Trump told G7 leaders that there were discussions on obtaining a ceasefire between Israel and Iran, and that European governments would be ready to take part in the Iran nuclear negotiations if a ceasefire is reached, according to the BBC.
