French President Emmanuel Macron spoke to United States President Donald Trump on Wednesday before hosting a summit for Ukraine today, Macron's office said. 31 countries are expected to attend the summit of the "coalition of the willing" aimed at securing lasting peace in Ukraine.
The Elysee Palace did not disclose details of the conversation between Marcon and Trump. It came after the US announced that Russia and Ukraine have agreed to a partial ceasefire. However, Moscow also claimed Ukraine's allies will ease some sanctions, which Macron has since denied.
