Macron to Musk: Twitter must comply with EU rules

French President Emmanuel Macron claimed that he told Twitter Inc. CEO Elon Musk that the company must comply with European regulations with regards to "transparent terms of use, significant reinforcement of content moderation and protection of freedom of expression."

The pair shared a "clear and sincere discussion," according to Macron, who added the French government "will work with Twitter to improve the protection of children online."
