French President Emmanuel Macron promised the delivery of light combat tanks to Ukraine on Wednesday. In a telephone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Macron said that AMX-10 RC light combat tanks will be sent to Kiev in an effort to help with the war against Russia.
Details on how many tanks will be delivered and when are not yet known but a spokesperson for the Elysee Palace said that "this is the first time that tanks of Western design have been supplied to the Ukrainian armed forces."
France recently delivered air defense systems to Ukraine, further strengthening relations between Paris and Kiev.
