Macron: Goal is for Trump to reverse tariff decision

French President Emmanuel Macron told reporters on Tuesday during his visit to Egypt that the main objective when it comes to the United States tariffs now is "to achieve a situation where [US] President [Donald] Trump reverses his decision."

Nonetheless, he reiterated that a response will come if there is no deal. "France and Europe have never wanted chaos," Macron insisted. He underlined that the French government plans to protect all the economic sectors in the country should negotiations not come to fruition.
