French President Emmanuel Macron warned that Russian President Vladimir Putin seeks to gain as much as possible before negotiating peace. Speaking after a virtual meeting with allies, Macron said Russia has shown no real intention of ending the war in Ukraine.
"Russia doesn't give the impression of wanting peace in earnest," Macron said.
Macron echoed British Prime Minister Keir Starmer's call for increased pressure on Russia, stressing that coordinated efforts with the US are necessary to push for a ceasefire.
