French President Emmanuel Macron accused Russia on Thursday of "failing to respond" to the international community's demands to agree to a ceasefire in Ukraine by continuing its strikes on the latter country.
Speaking to the press after hosting the summit dedicated to the conflict in Ukraine, Macron stated that the present parties "unanimously agreed" that "now is not the time for lifting sanctions in any way," not "before peace has been established." By voicing the European Union's resolve to "maintain economic pressure" on Russia, Macron contrasted the United States' alleged willingness to suspend some of the sanctions.
Furthermore, Macron announced that France and the United Kingdom will send a military delegation to Ukraine to help it with training and defense plans.
