Manchester City has confirmed that the club managed to seal the €60 million (£51.5 million) deal with Borussia Dortmund to sign Erling Haaland, who will, starting summer, be earning £375,000 a week, not including bonuses.
“Manchester City can confirm that we have reached an agreement in principle with Borussia Dortmund for the transfer of striker Erling Haaland to the club on 1 July 2022. The transfer remains subject to the club finalizing terms with the player,” Man City's official statement read.
Still, the club's manager Pep Guardiola highlighted not to expect Haaland to solve all of the team's offensive tasks: "The new players always help to try to be a stronger team but a good defender will not solve our defensive problems, one striker will not solve scoring problems that maybe we have."
