Mazda Motor Corp. CEO Masahiro Moro (pictured) said that the carmaker will launch its first fully electric vehicle in 2027.
Moro stated, as cited by Kyoto News, that Mazda will boost the production of electric-only models from 2028 and will work together with Toyota Motor Corp. to speed up the development of high-quality electric control equipment.
The CEO also stressed the carmaker will consider setting up electric vehicle production and battery procurement in North America as a result of United States President Joe Biden's Inflation Reduction Act, which offers consumers tax breaks for buying cars made in the region.
