The European Union announced on Friday in a statement that it is providing Ukraine with 500 additional power generators to further boost the country's energy resilience.
"Deployed from the EU's emergency rescEU reserves hosted by Poland, the generators range from small 12.5 kVA to large 1000 kVA that are capable of supplying energy to entire hospitals in case of power cuts," the bloc detailed, adding that the value of the equipment stands at €16.5 million.
The EU shared that the goal is to "ensure sufficient supply of electricity during cold and dark months," and keep vital services, such as hospitals, wastewater treatments and heating stations "up and running."
