Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell criticized former President Donald Trump on Tuesday over his meeting with rapper Ye, earlier known as Kanye West, and far-right commentator Nick Fuentes and hinted he would not support Trump's presidential run in 2024.
"There is simply no room in the Republican party for antisemitism or white supremacy and that would apply to all of the leaders in the party who will be seeking offices," McConnell stated. "Anyone meeting with people advocating that point of view, in my judgement, are highly unlikely to ever be elected president," he added.
Ye has recently come under fire after making several antisemitic comments and appearing in a t-shirt reading "White Lives Matter" at Paris Fashion Week. Meanwhile, Fuentes has had his account suspended on most major social networks for hate speech.
