Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev said on Wednesday that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's possible attempt to be re-elected may be "extremely dangerous" for him.
"He may even try to get re-elected, but it is extremely dangerous for him: he will either lose to some [Valery] Zaluzhny, or his weak, embattled figure will simply be removed from the chessboard by the Anglo-Saxon grandmasters," Medvedev told RIA Novosti.
In addition, Medvedev reiterated Russian President Vladimir Putin's stance that negotiations with Zelensky would be “illegitimate,” as his term expired in May 2024. Additionally, the Russian official stressed that the Ukrainian leader will draw out the negotiation process “in every possible way” to stay in power.
