Mercedes-Benz announced on Tuesday that deliveries for the third quarter surged 21% to 517,800 units, marking the strongest quarterly results of the fiscal year.
The sales of the company's passenger cars of Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) soared by 28%, in comparison to the second quarter, reaching 30,000 units. Year-on-year, the figure skyrocketed by 115%. Meanwhile, vehicle deliveries to China increased by 37% to 206,800 units.
"In a challenging business environment – primarily defined by ongoing semiconductor shortages - we continue to see robust demand for Mercedes-Benz resulting in the strongest sales quarter this year," Member of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz Group AG Britta Seeger commented upon the release of the report.
