Merchant ship hit in Red Sea attack

A merchant ship sent out a distress signal on Wednesday after being hit by an apparent missile around 66 nautical miles southwest of Al Hudaydah, Yemen. The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said authorities are investigating the incident.

There is currently no information on the damage to the ship or possible casualties. It is also unclear whether the Houthi Yemeni militant group carried out the attack.
