Britain, France, Germany and the United States have lifted range restrictions on weapons sent to Ukraine, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said on Monday.
"There are no longer any range restrictions on weapons supplied to Ukraine - neither by the British, nor by the French, nor by us, nor by the Americans. This means that Ukraine can now defend itself, including, for example, by striking military positions on Russian territory," Merz said at a forum organized by the WDR television.
The move opens the door for the supply of Taurus missiles and long-range strikes with Western weapons into Russian territory.
