Meta Platforms Inc. is set to expand its production of the mixed reality headset Quest 3S to Vietnam next year, the Vietnam Government News revealed on Tuesday, citing Meta's President of Global Affairs, Nick Clegg.
In his meeting with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Monday, Clegg stated that the social network giant is expected to create 1,000 new jobs. He also announced that Meta's virtual assistant, Meta AI, will be developed in Vietnamese to help promote innovation and provide a business tool for people in the country. Clegg noted that Vietnam is one of Meta's leading messaging markets for business conversations.
Prime Minister Chinh asked Meta to continue working with Vietnamese agencies and partners, emphasizing the Vietnam National Innovation Center. He proposed that the tech giant help protect social media users by preventing toxic information, illegal services, and online fraud.
