Meta wanted Llama funding help from Amazon, Microsoft

Meta Platforms contacted other technological giants, including Amazon and Microsoft, over the past year to ask them to help fund its artificial intelligence large language model Llama, The Information reported, citing four people familiar with the matter.

According to the sources, Meta offered "incentives" such as allowing the backers to "influence Llama's feature development." It is unknown if the company had any success in this endeavor, as it was reported that it first got a "tepid" response and then contacted more companies.
