Levi Strauss & Co. announced on Thursday that Michelle Gass will assume the role of the company's chief executive officer in January.
Gass will replace Chip Bergh, who will leave the post on January 29 and serve as a senior advisor until April 26, 2024, when he will retire from the company. "“Chip has transformed this company and will leave it far better than when he arrived. I know we will continue to benefit from Chip’s strategic perspective as he continues to serve on the company’s board," Levi Strauss Chairman Bob Eckert stated.
In 2022, Levi Strauss picked Gass to become its next CEO within the following 18 months.
