Microsoft allegedly aims to rack up 1.8M AI chips by 2024-end

Microsoft Corp. is looking to amass as many as 1.8 million artificial intelligence (AI) chips by the end of 2024, the Business Insider reported citing an internal document it viewed.

According to the document, the tech giant is planning to increase the number of its graphics processing units (GPUs) threefold this year.

Two sources briefed on the matter told the media outlet that approximately $100 billion will be allocated for GPUs and data centers from 2024 up until 2027.
