Microsoft launches Core AI to lead new AI-first strategy

Microsft Corp. announced on Monday the creation of Core AI – Platform and Tools, a new engineering division to drive the company's AI-first vision.

Core AI will unify teams from Microsoft's Dev Div, AI Platform, and the Office of the CTO to develop tools like GitHub Copilot and Azure AI infrastructure. The division, led by Jay Parikh, will focus on building a cohesive AI stack for first- and third-party customers, with enhanced capabilities for developing, deploying, and managing AI-driven applications.

"Our success in this next phase will be determined by having the best AI platform, tools, and infrastructure. We have a lot of work to do and a tremendous opportunity ahead, and together, I'm looking forward to building what comes next," Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella said in a statement.
