Microsoft Corporation is developing its own Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to reduce costs by mimicking OpenAI's more sophisticated chatbot, The Information reported on Tuesday.
According to the report, the company is testing a smaller, less expensive model. On the other hand, another source noted that the company is already using its own AI technology in its Bing chatbot. Microsoft is considering making these cheaper models commercially available to Azure cloud customers.
Currently, the company is reevaluating its AI software development strategy, focusing on a plan B as the costs of advanced AI models increase.
