UNSPLASH / AMR TAHA

Microsoft Corporation is planning to add the latest installment of the popular game Call of Duty to its gaming subscription service, the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday, citing people familiar with the matter.

According to the sources, the decision to include Call of Duty in the Game Pass service is expected to be announced at the tech giant's annual Xbox Showcase event in June.

Call of Duty is made by Activision, which was acquired by Microsoft in October last year. The game was first launched in 2003 and has generated over $30 billion in revenue so far. The latest version is priced at $70, while Microsoft's Game Pass service starts at $9.99 per month.
