Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited (CATL) said on Monday that it temporarily halted mining operations at its Yichun project in China's Jiangxi province due to the expiration of a mining license on August 9.

CATL said it is in the process of applying for a renewal of the mining permit "in accordance with relevant regulations," adding that it will resume production as soon as it obtains the new approval.

The Chinese electric vehicle battery manufacturer emphasized that the halt would have minimal impact on its overall operations.
