The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights claimed on Monday that the Israeli military has carried out "the most violent" strikes on Syria since 2012, targeting military facilities on the Syrian coast. There is no information about potential casualties.

The monitor added that Israel has "significantly escalated" airstrikes in Syria since the fall of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on December 8. Recent targets include the Deir ez-Zor military airport in the northeast, as well as "camps containing many tunnels with warehouses for large missiles, ammunition and shells that belonged to the former regime's army" northwest of Damascus.
