South Korean President Moon Jae-in (pictured) is expected to include former President Park Geun-hye in a list of New Year's special pardons, Yonhap News Agency reported citing the ruling party's senior official familiar with the matter.
The former head of government began serving a 22-year prison sentence on corruption charges after she was found guilty in March 2017.
"I understand that ex-President Park is included on a list of people who are to be granted pardons," the official told Yonhap.
