The Moscow Exchange Group (MOEX) suspended trading in the evening session on Thursday at 8:40 pm local time "after discovering problems with data transmission."

In the official statement, MOEX confirmed that the decision was made after consulting with market participants. The move comes after the Russian rouble and stocks rallied earlier in the day following a phone call between United States President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin during which they discussed peace in Ukraine. The dollar traded 3.29% lower against the Russian rouble at 1:07 pm ET.
