Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak (pictured) stated on Thursday that Moscow and Riyadh are speaking about the potential impact of the coronavirus on global oil demand. Speaking to Russian media, he emphasized that his country is "ready to react" to lower demand.
In addition, Novak stressed that Russia is prepared to hold a meeting with the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and its allies in early February. The official date for the meeting is still being discussed, he noted.
It was reported yesterday that Saudi Arabia proposed an early February date for the OPEC+ meeting.
